Phil Wood of P. Wood and Associates has been hired to help the Kingston of Community develop their plan. Phil responded to the public call for proposals in the spring of this year, and was selected by the planning committee. Phil has a long history of community planning on PEI.

The Kingston Community Council has applied for and received preliminary approval for funding under the Capacity Building Fund for developing a Community Plan.  The next step is to hire a Planner to help the community develop a plan.

The Community agreed to proceed with developing an Official Plan at a public meeting about 2 years ago.  The process was delayed until after Judge Thompson’s report on land use was completed.

There will be opportunities for the Community to input into the plan through a series of public meetings and focus group sessions.
