Official Plan
Our Official Plan was approved and came into effect in November of 2012. In the two years prior, councillors, planner and community members worked hard to develop this plan, which would represent the goals of the residents and be the blueprint for development and growth within our communities.
The Plan is now 10 years old and we will be updating it over the next calendar year. Part of the process will be seeking input from Residents on how they see our Municipality evolving over the next 10 years. Stay tuned for news on meetings seeking such input. The greater the participation by residents, the better the new Plan will reflect its wishes.

Development within the Rural Municipality of Kingston is regulated by our Development Bylaw. This is our major document which is based on the Official Plan.

Subdivision
Subdivision of Land is governed by our Development bylaw. In order to subdivide land in Kingston one should print off a copy of our Subdivision Application below and also read a copy of our Kingston Guide to development (Above)
Development
Development often requires both a Development and Building Permit. Currently the Rural Municipality of Kingston is responsible for issuing Development Permits and the Province is responsible for issuing Building Permits.
